Q & A with John

Why Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth for several reasons. I wanted a college where I could have fun, but also be competetive in running. I also wanted a school that was beautiful year round. Dartmouth provides all of these things.

How long have you been running cross country and what got you interested in cross country?
I have always enjoyed the feeling of exhaustion after exerting myself physically. Thus, it was natural that I chose cross country when high school rolled along and I was deciding which sports I really wanted to pursue.

Have you won any academic or cross country awards recently?
I have recently been named my high school's "athlete of the year" and I received silver academic medals in the sciences and english at my high school graduation.

Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I almost had my left leg chopped off at age 7 because of a very bad staph infection.

What are your future plans, if any?
I continue to keep improving as a person and runner. I will see where this takes me.
