This week DartmouthSports.com went outdoors to find superior athletes for the weekly award. Kirsten Goldberg and Fergus Campbell are seniors on the men's and women's lacrosse teams. Both team opened the 2012 spring with wins on the road. The men traveled to snowy Hamilton, N.Y. and upset 19th ranked Colgate, 9-6. The women's team stayed in state but came home from UNH with a 13-7 victory.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Kirsten Goldberg (Cockeysville, Md.), Sr., M, Women's Lacrosse

The senior midfielder started the season off on the right foot as she scored five times against instate rival New Hampshire as part of a 13-7 victory Saturday afternoon in Durham. Her goal in the waning moments of the first half proved to be the game winner as Goldberg and the Big Green scored eight first-half goals. She also added two ground balls, one draw control and one caused turnover on the afternoon as Dartmouth took care of the Wildcats for the second year in a row.

Fergus Campbell (New Canaan, Conn.), Sr, Goalie, Men's Lacrosse

Senior Fergus Campbell helped the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team win at 19th-ranked Colgate, 9-6, on Saturday in the Big Green's season-opening game. Campbell made 16 saves in the contest and had a team-high five ground balls. Dating back to last season, it marked the ninth straight game he has made double-digit saves. He also moved into 10th on the program's career saves list. He has 391 saves in his career. The team hosts Sacred Heart on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
