HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth field hockey senior co-captain Kelly Hood (Berlin, N.H.) has been named the Union Leader Athlete of the Month for September. The Union Leader is the largest newspaper in New Hampshire and recognizes one athlete from the state for their accomplishments each month to spotlight.

Hood was honored after a month that saw her break the program's all-time records for both goals and points in a career. She now ranks in the top 10 amongst active players in both career points (128) and goals (55).

In September, Hood posted 10 goals and five assists for 25 points, leading all Ivy League players in those three categories. In that time she also helped her team to a 6-3 record, including a mark of 5-1 at home.

Hood finished with 29 points in Athlete of the Month balloting as conducted by a panel of judges. Her mother, Patty, sits on the panel but abstained from voting.
