HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth was the recipient of two separate honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) recognizing the work put forth by its players this year in the classroom.

On Tuesday afternoon, the organization announced that the Big Green was one of 66 programs from across the country to earn the distinction as a Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award recipient.

The team academic honor is presented to programs whose cumulative grade-point average is a 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

Nine Dartmouth players were then recognized Wednesday as members of the 2013 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. To be eligible for this acknowledgment, individual student-athletes must have achieved a cumulative 3.30 GPA through this year’s first semester.

The nine who met those standards and were named to the DI Academic squad were: Christine Auberle, Eliza Becker, Janine Leger, Ellen Meyer, Olivia Quaglia, Ali Savage, Maggie Scanlon, Victoria Tersigni and Heather Zezzo.

For Scanlon and Tersigni, it marked the fourth time they appeared on the annual list, completing their entire career having met or surpassed the criteria.
