HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth's Lisa Masini has been selected as one of just 38 players from across the country to participate in the 2012 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game.
The game will be held this year at Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va., on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m.
Masini, a 2011 All-Ivy Second-Team player, has been one of the Big Green's top offensive talents during her time in Hanover. This year, the Ann Arbor, Mich., native has elevated her game from the Ivy League's assist leader with 18 a year ago to an all-around force in 2012.
Masini ranks second on the team with 24 points, including her career-best nine goals, which currently rank fifth in the league. That point total also has Masini fifth in the Ivy leaderboards this season as does her two game-winning goals. Her six assists and 0.38 assists per game rank seventh in the league as well.
Masini's participation marks the third straight year that the Green and White will be represented among the nation's top players in their final season of collegiate field hockey as Virginia Peisch '11 joined Fowler in Maryland two years ago.
"I think it's a great honor for Dartmouth to once again have a representative in this game," Fowler said. "Lisa will compete with and against the top seniors in the country along with taking on our US National team. I am excited to see Lisa showcase her talents as she wears the green of Dartmouth one last time."
This year's Senior Game participants will face off against the U.S. Women's National Team as well as against each other in a series of four (4), 25-minute sessions:
- Senior Game Participants - Home Team vs.
Senior Game Participants - Away Team
- Senior Game Participants - Home Team vs. U.S. Women's National Team
- Senior Game Participants - Away Team vs. U.S. Women's National Team
- Senior Game Participants - Home Team vs. Senior Game Participants - Away Team
The Green and White midfielder is just one of three players from the Ivy League to be selected for the game, joining Yale's Mary Beth Barnham and Columbia's Gabby Kozlowski.
Masini and the rest of her Big Green teammates will be back in action this coming Saturday as they travel to Ithaca for the final weekend of the regular season. Game time between Dartmouth and Cornell is set for noon.
