Kristine Stigas, a 2010 graduate of Boston College begins her first year as a Dartmouth field hockey assistant coach. She comes to Hanover after serving as a goalie coach at Boston College's Goalkeeping Academy as well as the Eagle Elite Field Hockey camps for the past five years. She was the assistant coach at Shoot-n-Save, College Connection and other White Mountain Sports Camps from 2007-2009.
Stigas recently served as the head goalkeeping coach with the Cape Ann Coalition club team and at several Precision field hockey clinics. In addition, she has worked with the elite level goalies and field players as an assistant coach in the US Futures program.
The Canton, Mass., native was a two-year starter for the Eagles as well as a 2009 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) second team regional All-American. She helped BC to an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2009 and was a two-time All-ACC academic team selection and a five-time NFHCA academic squad honoree.
Stigas earned the Athletics Director's Award for academic excellence five times. She played for the New England High Performance team that competed in Virginia for the Women's National Championships in 2009 and 2010. Stigas completed her career with a record of 25-14 in games that she started. She posted eight shutouts and recorded a 1.76 goals against average and a .725 save percentage.
