The Dartmouth women's crew team kicks off the 2012 competition season with races against Northeastern and Columbia on Saturday (March 30) in Boston, Mass. There will be live streaming available at this link.

Big Green Tidbits
For Starters -
The Big Green open the season on Saturday with races against Northeastern and Ivy League foe Columbia.  The Big Green's races against the regional foes marks the second consecutive season Dartmouth has opened the season against the Northeastern. Last season, the race didn't take place due to weather, but Dartmouth has raced a school from Boston to open the season in six of the last seven seasons including this one. In 2010, the squad opened at Tennessee with Alabama and Louisville but did take on Northeastern, Boston College and Rhode Island in its second race of the season.  

Welcome to the Big Green Team - The women's squad features 14 new faces this season. Dartmouth welcomes: Margo Cox (Weston, Mass.), Lilly Fleischmann (Cincinnati, Ohio), Annie Gardner (Princeton, N.J.), Gianna Guarino (Winthrop, Mass.), Janine Jablonski (Delray Beach, Fla.), Bianca Jackson (Glencoe, Ill.), Molly Leen (Hingham, Mass.), Lisa Luo (West Roxbury, Mass.), Heather Oudheusden (Greenwich, Conn.), Shweta Raghu (Short Hills, N.J.), Mary Reckford (Short Hills, N.J.), Julie Sussman (Greenwich, Conn.), Abby Thornburg (Menlo Park, Calif.) and Tory Wallace (Warrawee, NSW AU).

Dartmouth Opens Season Ranked No. 17 in CRCA/US Rowing Poll - The Big Green, fresh off an appearance at the 2011 NCAA Championships, earned a No. 15 ranking in the initial poll on March 15. The Big Green is one of six Ivy League school ranked in the preseason poll. Princeton check in at No. 3 to lead all Ivy League schools while Brown is at No. 4. Yale enters at No. 7, Radcliffe is No. 12 and Cornell is No. 15. Penn and Columbia also received votes.

Dartmouth Hosts Cornell - Dartmouth crew fans will have be able to see the Big Green at home on Saturday April 28 when they host Cornell in the final regatta of the season before heading to the Ivy League Championship.

Coach Levash Is Back  - Head coach Wendy Levash is entering her eighth season at Dartmouth in 2012. Levash is assisted by former Big Green rower, Anne Kennedy, who has been on staff since 2010.
