HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's crew team checked in at No. 17 in the College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA)/US Rowing Coaches Poll released on March 15. Dartmouth is one of six Ivy League schools ranked in the initial poll.
Virginia takes top billing with 461 points and is followed by No. 2 California (438 points), No. 3 Princeton (395 points), No. 4 Brown (381 points) and No. 5 Stanford (373 points) to round out the top five. Ivy League foe Yale comes in at No. 7 and Harvard at No. 12, while Cornell opens the season at No. 15. Penn (31 points) and Columbia (7 points) are also receiving votes in the poll.
The Big Green, who are currently preparing for the 2012 season in Oak Ridge, Tenn., are coming off a 2011 campaign which saw them reach the NCAA Championships for the third time since 2007.
Dartmouth opens the 2012 season on March 31 when they travel to Boston, Mass., to take on Northeastern and Columbia.
