HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's crew team had seven members earn Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete honors and had two members earn CRCA All-Region nods it was announced on Tuesday (May 22).
Sarah Cohan (Marlborough, Mass.), Hayley Daniell (Hopkinton, N.H.), Sarah Kler (Eugene, Ore.), Gabrielle Mezochow (Merion, Pa.), Paige Monborne (Arlington, Va.), Sarah Rutter (North Andover, Mass.) and Maya Schechter (Lafayette, Calif.) were all named to the 2012 Scholar-Athlete Team.
Cohan, Daniell, Kler, Mezochow and Rutter are each earning the Scholar-Athlete award for the second consecutive season.
In order to be selected the student-athlete must have rowed in a minimum of 75 percent of the teams spring races and maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average for her career, through the fall semester/quarter for the current competition year.
Additionally, Daniell and senior captain Jamie Chapman (Traverse City, Mich.) earned CRCA All-New England regional accolades. Daniell earned a spot on the first team while Chapman was a second team selection. Daniell was one of nine Ivy League rowers to earn a spot on the first team while Chapman was one of six Ivy League rowers on the second team.
Daniell earns her second consecutive first team honor while Chapman was named to the All-Region squad for the first time in her career.
Dartmouth finished sixth at the inaugural Ivy League Championship on the Cooper River on May 13.
