Q&A with Julie Sussman
I chose Dartmouth because of the close-knit atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the students and alumni. I love the unique opportunities that the D-Plan offers as well as the availability of outdoor activities in every season.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
I began rowing in the fall of 8th grade after watching my older brother compete in his regattas. I rowed throughout high school and my freshman year here with the Women’s Team and began coxing for the Lightweight Men at the beginning of my sophomore year.
What is something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
I’m halfway towards my goal of visiting all 50 U.S. states and I’ve also been to 15 countries.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
I am involved in the Dartmouth Finance Society, Smart Women Securities, Women in Business, and Kappa Delta Sorority.
What are your future plans, if any?
I am currently undecided about what specific career path I want to pursue, but in the meantime, I plan to explore the many academic opportunities offered here, learn a lot, meet new people, and (of course) row!
