NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 11 Dartmouth men’s squash team ended a weekend with a 6-3 loss to No. 9 Western Ontario at the Brady Squash Center on Yale's campus.

With the defeat, the Big Green fall to 2-6 on the season, while Mustangs improved to 8-3 with their second straight win versus Dartmouth.

Mark Funk continued his strong play for the team from the Upper Valley, winning his match at the No. 6 spot, 3-0. In the second set, the Short Hills, N.J., native outlasted Devin Hinchey, 15-13, to take a commanding 2-0 advantage. In the third game, Funk clinched his victory with a score of 11-4.

George Henderson and James Fisch were the other point earners for the Big Green. Henderson and Fisch each won, 3-1, at No. 9 and No. 8, respectively.

Nicholas Harrington and Kyle Martino played well in defeat for the Green and White. Both Harrington and Martino dropped five-set battles. Martino won the first two games in his match before losing the final three and Harrington took a 2-1 edge, but couldn’t close out his opponent at No. 2.

The Big Green men return to action next weekend, Feb. 1 and Feb. 2, traveling to the Empire State to square off with Columbia and Cornell in Ivy League action.
