HANOVER, N.H. — The seventh-ranked Dartmouth men's squash team fell to fourth-ranked Rochester on Sunday, 6-3, at the Berry Sports Center. The loss dropped the Big Green to 6-4 on the season, while the Yellow Jackets improved to 7-4.
Dartmouth had three players earn wins in the match, including at the top two spots. Junior Chris Hanson (Greenwich, Conn.) need five games to claim his match at No. 1. After dropping two of the first three games to Andres Duany, Hanson won the fourth, 11-4, and fifth, 11-9, to secure the win.
In the second spot, senior Nick Sisodia (Chicago, Ill.) bested Benjamin Fischer, 11-7, 14-12, 4-11, 11-5. The other winner for the Big Green was senior Stephen Wetherill (Ambler, Pa.) at sixth singles. He needed only three games to top Oscar Lopez, 11-4, 11-8, 11-9.
For the second straight day, Dartmouth played a team in the top five. The Big Green were more competitive on Sunday but the end results was the same. The team goes out on the road next weekend when it plays at Cornell on Saturday, Feb. 4, and at Columbia on Sunday, Feb. 5.
