LANCASTER, PA. — The seventh-ranked Dartmouth men's squash team edged out a 5-4 victory at eighth-ranked Franklin and Marshall on Sunday. The win improved the Big Green to 3-0, while the Diplomats fell to 0-2.

It wasn't easy for the Big Green in just their third match of the season, but they secured the needed five wins to earn the victory. The team relied upon its depth, winning the No. 1 spot and then No. 4-7 to take the match.

The most important match for the Big Green might have come at No. 5 singles. Senior Stephen Wetherill (Ambler, Pa.) lost the first two games, 8-11, 9-11, but came all the way back to win the final three, 11-7, 11-6, 11-8, to take the match.

Junior Chris Hanson also went five at the No. 1 spot. He found himself down, 2-1, after losing the first and third game, but won the final two, 11-5, 11-6, to take the match.

In the No. 4 spot, junior Robbie Maycock (Devonshire, Bermuda) needed four games, winning 12-10, 11-5, 1-11, 11-6. At both No. 6 and No. 7 singles, Dartmouth was able to win in three games. Junior Alex Kurth (Tenafly, N.J.) won at the sixth spot, 11-8, 11-7, 11-7, and senior Brian O'Toole (Short Hills, N.J.) won at the seventh spot, 12-10, 11-5, 11-4.

Dartmouth plays its first home contest on Wednesday when it hosts fifth-ranked Harvard at 5 p.m.
