HANOVER, N.H. - Fresh off a 2012 Ivy Shootout championship the night before in Providence, the Dartmouth men's hockey team took to the Thompson Arena ice Sunday as part of the annual Skate with the Big Green.
One of the team's top community events each year, all 28 members of the Green and White were on hand to skate with local youth as well as sign autographs on the 2012-13 team poster and pose for photos.
"This is something we all look forward to every year," head coach Bob Gaudet said standing at center ice during the event. "The guys were excited to come out off a great start to our season and see some of our younger fans on the ice this afternoon. I know they love talking to the kids about hockey and show them where they can be if they keep at it."
Sunday's Skate with the Big Green gave the fans a chance to see the team at home before it plays its first game at Thompson this year Friday when hosting Yale. Brown makes the trip to Hanover for a Saturday game. Both tilts are set for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
