HANOVER, N.H. – It was announced Thursday afternoon that the Dartmouth men’s hockey game at in-state rival New Hampshire on Jan. 9 will be broadcast live to a national television audience on the NBC Sports Network.
Opening puck drop from the Whittemore Center in Durham is tentatively set for 7 p.m.
The match-up of the Granite State’s two Division I men’s college hockey programs will be the first in Durham since the 2000 season when the Wildcats defeated the Big Green, 3-2, in overtime. Since then, the two teams have played 12 games in Manchester and two in Hanover over 14 years.
Dartmouth last played on the NBC Sports Network on Feb. 1, 2013 at Union in a game that ended in a 2-2 tie. The game at UNH will mark the fifth appearance on the network for the Green since the 2011-12 season, posting a 2-1-1 record in those four previous contests.
More details about the game and broadcast will be available as it approaches.
