HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth men's hockey team moved up one spot in each of the two national polls this week. In picking up one point on their first ECAC Hockey road trip of the season the Big Green are now No. 11 in both the and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Division I polls.

After suffering a 5-4 setback at Colgate Friday night, the Green fought for and earned a 1-1 tie at No. 10 Cornell Saturday inside Lynah Rink, the league's most hostile arena for visiting teams.

Senior captain Mike Keenan's blast with just 51.4 seconds left in the third period, and with the extra attacker on the ice, forced overtime and the eventual draw with the 10th-ranked Big Red. Freshman goalie Charles Grant was strong in his ECAC Hockey road debut, stopping 26 shots. Included in that total were seven saves in the five-minute overtime period, more than he faced in either the second or third periods.

The No. 11 ranking is the best for Dartmouth in the USCHO poll since it was tabbed in that same spot during the 2004-05 preseason (Sept. 27, 2004). Since the USCHO poll began in 1997-98, the Big Green have now reached the No. 11 position four separate times, it's highest placement in the rankings.

The Green and White will head into a five-game non-conference slate that runs through the end of the year as the top team in the league standings with nine points (4-1-1).

Union slipped one spot to No. 8 in the USCHO poll, while Cornell dropped three places to No. 13 this week. Harvard (17th) and Quinnipiac (18th) round out ranked league teams.

Dartmouth is now tasked with its biggest non-conference tilt of the season as it will travel to Chestnut Hill for Saturday's 4 p.m. matchup with No. 1 Boston College. Tickets can still be purchased through the Boston College Athletics Ticket Office at (617) 552-4622. Dartmouth Hockey fans will be seated in sections JJ and KK.
