Q and A with Ida

Why Dartmouth?

I chose Dartmouth because of the atmosphere and tradition.  It seemed like a really fun place to go to school where I would meet interesting people.  I felt like there was community here and I wanted to be part of it.

How long have you been skiing and what got you interested?

I have been skiing for just about as long as I could walk so I guess since I was about two.  My whole family skied so I didn't have a choice at first but then I came to really love it.

Have you won any awards lately?

Last year skiing for Dartmouth I was the EISA Classic and Skate Overall Leader and an NCAA Academic All-American.  This winter I'm not competing for Dartmouth but am racing instead for the US Ski Team and recently qualified to race for the US in the World Championships in Oslo.

Tell me something about yourself that may come as a surprise to your teammates.

Hmm..  I think my teammates know me really well and I can't think of any secrets that I have.

What are your future plans?

After I graduate I plan to continue ski racing for a few years and after that I would like to go to physical therapy school.
