After a two-week hiatus, the Dartmouth equestrian returned to action this past weekend.

The 2014 IHSA Zone I, Region 2 Regional Championships were held on Saturday at Dartmouth Riding Center in Etna. Although Dartmouth wrapped up the year as Regional Team Champions back on Mar. 8 at UNH, Saturday marked the official ceremony where members of the Big Green received their Regional Champion honors. 

Dartmouth will compete next weekend at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass., at the IHSA Zone I New England Championships against Mount Holyoke, Rhode Island and Tufts for one of two team spots at the 2014 IHSA National Championships held the first weekend in May. 

Also competing at the Zone Championships next weekend in individual classes for the top-two spots out of eight which would send them onto nationals are:

Janna Wandzilak, Reserve Champion in both Open Fences and Open Flat
Emma Waugh, Champion in Novice Flat
Morgan Curtis, Reserve Champion in Novice Flat
Lauren Kwan, Champion in Walk-Trot

Other awards were presented to Dartmouth’s top-two finishers in the Regional High Point Rider standings:  Janna Wandzilak, Reserve Champion and Alexa Dixon, third place.
