HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's hockey team will take the ice for the first time this season, playing host to the McGill Martlets in exhibition action this Friday night at Thompson Arena. The puck drops at 7 p.m.

McGill comes into tonight's action with a 2-0 record, having beaten Concordia and Ottawa earlier this month. The Martletts have scored a combined 13 goals in their two games, while holding their opponents to just two. Additionally, the visitors have posted a 3-5 preseason record, including losses at NCAA opponents Providence and Boston University.

Dartmouth holds a 7-2 advantage in the all-time series with McGill, including a 58-13 edge in goal differential. In their first five meetings, the Big Green outscored the Martlets, 47-3. Since then, however, the two squads have been more evenly matched; they split the last four games, three of which were decided by a goal.

The Green and White won last year's faceoff, 3-2 in Hanover. Current seniors Reagan Fischer, Lisa Berreman and Sasha Nanji netted goals in the victory, and all three Dartmouth netminders saw time between the pipes, combining to stop 16 shots.

The Big Green, who finished the 2011-12 campaign with an 18-10-2 record and berth in the ECAC Tournament, will officially kick off their 2012-13 season next weekend, taking on Princeton (Oct. 26; 7 p.m.) and Quinnipiac (Oct. 27; 4 p.m.) on the road.

Admission to tonight's contest is free and seating is general admission.
