HANOVER, N.H. - Ever wondered how the lines and faceoff circles on the ice at Thompson Arena come to be each year? The Dartmouth Grounds Crew was hard at work earlier this week preparing the surface for the upcoming 2012-13 season of Big Green men's and women's hockey.

After a base layer of ice and white paint, the lines and circles are put down before the crew puts the finishing touches on the familiar Dartmouth 'D' and ECAC Hockey logos seen in the neutral zone.

The video, shot over two days, shows just a portion of the work it takes to create one of the best playing surfaces in college hockey.
