HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s hockey head coach Mark Hudak has announced the three players who will serve as captains for the upcoming 2014-15 season.
Senior Karlee Odland will wear the ‘C’ as the team’s captain, marking the first time since the 2010-11 season that just one player will wear the letter. Odland will be the 66th team captain in program history dating back to the 1977-78 season, the first year of varsity women’s ice hockey at Dartmouth.
A Vauxhall, Alberta, native, Odland appeared in 23 games this past winter, registering 13 points on four goals and nine assists and was one of the most demonstrative leaders on the ice and in the dressing room.
Illikainen, a product of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, will don the ‘A’ after playing in all 30 games as a junior in 2013-14. Berghuis scored three goals and had 10 points in her second season with the team after coming to Dartmouth from Truro, Nova Scotia.
"I am very happy to have these three leading our team next season." Hudak said. "Each has certainly earned the privilege and responsibility of serving as team leaders during the 2014-15 season and I look forward to the positive aspects they will bring to the rink every day."
