Women's Hockey Adds Five New Names to 2014-15 Roster

HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s hockey head coach Mark Hudak has announced the addition of five players who will be joining the program this fall as part of the Class of 2018.

The group consists of three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie who are set to make their debuts this fall in Hanover wearing the Big Green sweater.

"We are all excited to welcome our new class of incoming freshmen," Hudak said. "Holley Tyng and Josh Liegl, who do so much of our recruiting, have done an outstanding job in identifying the athletic talent as well as the personal character of each individual in this class.

"We look forward to these five positively adding to our team and to the overall Dartmouth community," Hudak added.

A complete breakdown of the Class of 2018 is as follows:

Brooke Ahbe
Forward
Centennial, Colorado / Shattuck St. Mary’s

Ahbe’s hometown is Centennial, Colorado, but she played her high school hockey at Shattuck St. Mary’s in Minnesota. At Shattuck, her teams competed at the USA National Championship every year, winning the title in 2012-13. Ahbe attended the USA Hockey camps in all four years of high school and was selected to the United States U18 National Team, which won Silver at the U18 World Championship in Hungary this past year.

Elena Horton
Forward
Cincinnati, Ohio / Team Pittsburgh

Horton played her junior hockey most recently with Team Pittsburgh, helping qualify for the 2014 USA National Championship as the Mid America representative. In addition to hockey, Horton was captain of the cross country team, leading the program to the District Team Championship and winning the Cincinnati Hills League Championship. For her efforts, she was tabbed as the CHL Runner of the Year. Elena also excels in the classroom as she is an honor student at Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati, Ohio

Hailey Noronha
Defenseman
Newmarket, Ontario / Whitby Wolves

Noronha comes to Dartmouth via Newmarket, Ontario and attends Sacred Heart Catholic High School. This past year she played for and captained the Whitby Wolves.  In her time with the Wolves, Noronha was part of teams that won the PWHL regular-season and playoff championship in 2012-13 before helping the Wolves repeat as postseason champions this past year. Noronha is a two-time member of her provincial team winning Gold twice at the Canadian U18 Championship. A two-time member of Canada’s U18 National Team, Noronha was part of a group that won Gold at the U18 World Championship in Budapest this past March.

Casey Nunnelly
Goalie                   
Dover, Massachusetts / Noble and Greenough School

Nunnelly is a four-year, three-sport athlete at Noble and Greenough as well as playing boy’s hockey with the Wellesley Raiders. During her senior year and as the starting goaltender, her team’s record was 28-1-1, recording 18 shutouts along the way.  With Nunnelly backstopping her team between the pipes, Nobles finished second at the 2013-14 New England Prep School Championship.

Morgan Turner
Forward              
Chicago, Illinois / Chicago Mission

Morgan most recently played her junior hockey with the Chicago Mission. In her last three years of junior hockey, Turner’s teams have all played at the USA National Championship. She is a four-year honor student and three-sport athlete at Whitney Young Magnet High School in Chicago.
