HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's hockey team wrapped-up its 2012-13 non-conference schedule with a 4-2 come-from-behind victory against Vermont on Wednesday evening at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
The win was the fourth straight for the Big Green against Hockey East foes, and the 11th straight against the Catamounts under head coach Mark Hudak.
With the two-goal victory the team from the Upper Valley improves to 9-5-2 overall as its eight-game road trip concludes with a 5-3-0 record. A trio of second-period markers paced the comeback for the Green and White as they head into the stretch run of their schedule with two straight victories.
Dartmouth battled back from a one-goal deficit twice in the contest as freshman Laura Stacey tied the game just 23 seconds after Vermont took an early 1-0 advantage. Stacey's goal was her fourth of the season and quickly took the wind out of the Catamoun's sails.
Vermont was back at it early in the second when sophomore Meghan Heurtas scored in the first minute. Less then 60 seconds later the Big Green tied the contest as freshman Lindsey Allen scored her fifth goal off the season off a pass from classmate Ailish Forfar.
After being named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, Forfar scored her second game-winning goal in the last four games as she found the back of the net 3:19 into the second period. Forfar's tally was her fourth of the season and she has now scored in three of the team's last four contests.
Karlee Odland added some insurance later in the second as she tallied her third goal of the year.
Junior Lindsay Holcroft continued her strong play as she turned away 22 shots to pick up her eighth win of the season.
The Big Green outshot the Catamounts, 41-24, and they killed all five of their regional rival's power-play chances.
Dartmouth returns to Hanover and Thompson Arena this weekend, Jan. 11 and 12, as they welcome ECAC Hockey foes Quinnipiac and Princeton. Action gets underway Friday evening at 7 p.m. against the Bobcats and the Big Green close out the weekend with a Saturday afternoon matinee against the Tigers.
