FUSSEN, Germany - Dartmouth freshman Laura Stacey helped the Canadian National Women's Under-22/Development Team to a 2013 Meco Cup Championship Sunday night at Arena Fussen in southern Germany.

Stacey scored with 46 seconds left in the first period, breaking a 2-2 tie with the Russians and giving her team a one-goal lead headed into the first intermission.

The Canadians would add two more in each of the next two periods to take the game, 7-3, winning the title for the ninth time in 10 years.

For Stacey, the first-period marker was her first of the tournament as her team claimed Gold with a 4-0-0 mark.

No stranger to the Canadian National Team, Stacey also won Gold at the 2012 Under-18 Women's World Championship last spring and has been selected to represent her country on 10 occasions.

Stacey is expected return to Hanover and rejoin the Big Green this week in time for Wednesday's game at Vermont and the team's first home games since November when it hosts Quinnipiac and Princeton Friday and Saturday.
