HANOVER, N.H. - Head Coach Mark Hudak has announced the Dartmouth women's hockey schedule for the upcoming 2012-13 season. The Big Green schedule features 29 games, including 13 on the home ice of Thompson Arena.
Dartmouth kicks off the 2012-13 campaign with a four-game road trip beginning at Princeton (Oct. 26). The Big Green will face Quinnipiac (Oct. 27) the same weekend, before taking on Yale (Nov. 2) and Brown (Nov. 3) the following Friday/Saturday.
The squad sees its first action at Thompson Arena with a pair of non-conference matchups against UNH (Nov. 6) and Boston College (Nov. 12). Wrapping up the four-game homestand, Dartmouth will face last year's Frozen Four three-seed Cornell (Nov. 23) and Colgate (Nov. 24) before departing on an eight-game road swing.
The Big Green will take on Harvard (Nov. 30) and Northeastern (Dec. 5) on the road before heading further east to visit Maine for a two-game series (Dec. 8-9). December wraps up with a New Year's Eve contest at Providence (Dec. 31), and Dartmouth kicks off the New Year with a series at Rensselaer (Jan 4) and Union (Jan 5). The Green and White play one more road game in Burlington, Vt. against the Vermont Catamounts (Jan. 9) before returning home to Hanover.
ECAC Hockey action loops back beginning in mid-January, when the Big Green face conference foes Quinnipiac (Jan. 11) and Princeton (Jan. 12) for the second time of the season. Union (Jan. 18) and Rensselaer (Jan. 19) come to town the following weekend, signaling the end of another home stretch.
Dartmouth will make a quick trip to the North Country for a pair of contests against 2012 NCAA Tournament participant St. Lawrence (Jan. 25) and Clarkson (Jan. 26) that will wrap up the month of January.
February, which marks the last month of the regular season, begins with a matchup against Harvard (Feb. 1) at Thompson Arena. Brown (Feb. 8) and Yale (Feb. 9) will make stops in Hanover the following weekend.
The Big Green take to the road for the final time, heading west to face Colgate (Feb. 15) and Cornell (Feb. 16).
Dartmouth wraps up the regular season at home, facing Clarkson (Feb. 22) and St. Lawrence (Feb. 23).
Playoff hockey begins March 1-3 with the quarterfinal round of the ECAC Hockey Tournament. The league's championship weekend will be held March 3-8 at the campus site of the highest remaining seeds in the eight-team tournament. NCAA postseason play concludes Sunday, March 24 with the 13th Annual Frozen Four at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn.
