2015-16 (Senior): Named the team captain, becoming the first Alaska native to ever wear the 'C' on either the men's or women's side...Picked up an assist on Dartmouth's first goal of the season (Nick Bligh) on Nov. 1 at No. 11 Harvard...Registered an assist against Brown on Nov. 6 against Brown in his 100th career game in a Dartmouth sweater, becoming the 91st player in 110 years to reach the milestone figure...
2014-15 (Junior): Played in all 33 games…Fourth on the team in scoring with a 10-12-22 scoring line…Finished tied for second on the team with 10 goals…Whistled for just seven minor penalties all season…Netted his first goal of the season with 49.9 seconds left in regulation to force OT at No. 8 Union on Nov. 7, setting up for a 4-3 Dartmouth win on a Tim O'Brien goal in the extra frame. He also had an assist early in the third period on Tyler Sikura's first of the year…Scored both goals in Dartmouth’s 2-0 win over then-No. 1 and eventual national runner-up Boston University at home on Nov. 30…Scored four game-winning goals: vs. Brown (Nov. 15), BU (Nov. 30), at Brown (Feb. 6) and vs. Princeton (Mar. 7) in Game 2 of the first-round series with the Tigers…Third on the team with a +10 rating…Dartmouth was 7-0-2 when he scored a goal, 9-0-0 when he had an assist and 13-0-2 when he had a point, never losing a game when his name appeared on the scoresheet.
2013-14 (Sophomore): The lone Dartmouth player to appear in all 34 games over the course of the season…Was fourth on the team in scoring with 16 points on eight goals and eight assists…His biggest marker of the year was the game-winning goal in Game 3 of the first-round playoff series at RPI that capped a wild third-period comeback after trailing 4-2 to start the final frame…Scored two goals at Clarkson —including the winner — on Feb. 15 in a 6-1 Dartmouth win…Notched his first goal of the season at Brown on Dec. 7…Had goals in consecutive games at BU (Jan. 8) and vs. UNH (Jan. 11)…Tied Eric Neiley and Tyler Sikura for the team lead in game-winning goals with two…Put together a four-game point streak between Dec. 7 and Dec. 30 (2-2-4)…Had a three-game point streak in February (3-1-4) as part of the Big Green’s late-season turnaround… Dartmouth was 4-3-0 when he scored a goal and 6-7-2 when picking up a point.
2012-13 (Freshman): In his first season with the team, he played in 30 games, fourth most by a freshman…Posted five goals and five assists for 10 points…Registered his first collegiate goal and point at home against Rensselaer on Nov. 9…Picked up his only multi-point effort of the season in Game 3 of the first-round series against Harvard, scoring twice and assisting on another for three points…Had points in back-to-back games against Bentley (1-0-1) and Vermont (0-1-1) in early December…Was called for just two penalties all season…In 20 ECAC Hockey games, he posted two goals and three assists for five points.
Before Dartmouth: Played two seasons with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL...In 116 games over two years with the Storm, he scored 18 goals, including 12 in 2010-11...Registered 28 assists in 2011-12 to give him 37 for his career...His 34 points in his final season with the team were a new high, after registering 21 as a rookie...In one season with Belle Tire of the MWEHL, Schierhorn posted 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points...Played two years of high school hockey before making the jump to juniors, earning all-state and all-conference honors as a sophomore.
Personal: Son of Joe and Nancy Schierhorn...Has two brothers...An Alaska native, he enjoys fishing and hiking in his spare time...Younger brother Eric began his scollegiate career as a goaltender with the Minnesota Gophers in 2015-15...Older brother Chris played baseball at the University of Dallas.
