The Dartmouth men's lightweight team heads to the Charles River to battle Harvard and MIT for the Biglin Bowl. The Biglin Bowl is the first of four Cups that the Dartmouth lightweights race for throughout the season.

Big Green Tidbits
Back on the Water -
The Big Green opened the 2012 season with wins in three of the four races against the Blue Hens, including the marquee first and second varsity eight races.

Battle for the Biglin Bowl - The Dartmouth lightweight team competes for four Cups or Bowls throughout the regular season and this week's race against Harvard and MIT will be the first of those races. Harvard has won the Biglin Bowl in each of the last three meetings. Dartmouth last won it in 2008, edging Harvard by .05 tenths of a second.

Movin' On Up - The Big Green are at No. 6 in the latest USRowing Collegiate Poll released on Wednesday (April 11). Harvard earned the top spot while Ivy League foes; Yale (No. 2), Cornell (No. 4), Princeton (No. 4), Columbia (No. 6) and Penn (No. 9) are also ranked this week. Additionally, non-league opponents Delaware (No. 10) and MIT (No. 11) are also ranked.

Welcome to the Big Green Team - The lightweight squad features eight newcomers this season. The Big Green add Dario Aharpour (La Jolla, Calif.), Chris Calkins (Concord, Mass.), Julian Danziger (New York, N.Y.), Nash Larmoyeux (Palm Beach, Fla.), James Mock (Mattapoisett, Mass.), Austin Moore (West Chester, Pa.), Zach Nelson (Singapore) and Zachary Queen (McLean, Va.). 

Dartmouth Opens Season Ranked No. 8 in USRowing Collegiate Poll - The Big Green, earned a No. 8 ranking in the first poll of the 2012 season released on March 28. The poll ranks the top men's lightweight varsity eights throughout the country. Harvard has the top boat while Princeton, Yale, Georgetown and Cornell round out the top five. Other league boats receiving rankings are Columbia at No. 7, and Penn at No. 10

Three Chances to See the Big Green at Home This Season- Dartmouth crew fans will have three instances in which they can catch the Big Green on the Connecticut River this season. The lightweight men will host Yale on April 21, Columbia on April 22 and will close the home slate against Cornell on April 28. The last time Dartmouth had three home races was during the 2010 season.   

Leader of the Pack - Head coach Dan Roock returns for his fourth season as the man in charge of the Dartmouth lightweight crew team. Former Dartmouth rower, Emerson Curry, who has been a member of the staff since 2010, and Jason Cottingham, who is a volunteer assistant coach, assist Roock.
