CAMDEN, N.J. - The Dartmouth lightweight crew team battled top-ranked Harvard tooth-and-nail down the race course, but came up short in the grand final, finishing second at the 2012 IRA National Championship.

The Big Green and Harvard have battled as the No. 1 and No. 2 crews for the majority of the season and the grand final was no different. The teams maintained contact with each other down the course, but the Crimson crossed the finish line with a time of 5:33.05 just ahead of the Dartmouth, who finished with a time of 5:34.03.

Dartmouth earns its second consecutive top-three finish at the national championships and its second-place finish is its highest finish in the last seven seasons.
