Q & A with Henry Franco
I chose Dartmouth because I love the outdoors. Nothing beats the pleasure of a nice sunny summer afternoon by the river, it's so cash. Also, autumn in New England is pretty awesome, I like to play in the leaves.
How long have you been rowing and what sparked your interest?
I've been rowing since 8th grade. I originally joined because all of my friends were doing it. All of my coaches were Ukrainian. I stuck around because I loved racing, being on a team, and working out.
Have you won any awards?
Yes. I won nationals in the Quad even in 2011, and went on to race in the Henley Royal Regatta in England. I also won the "Best Hair" superlative in high school, because I had an afro. It was pretty sweet.
I have a fish named Lil' Blade Chillingsworth, a Juniper Bodhi tree whom I call H.G. Pennypacker, and I like long walks on the beach and stargazing. I've never eaten at Taco Bell, and I didn't like Titanic that much. It was soooo long, and there was room on that door for both Jack and Rose, don't even try to convince me otherwise.
