Q&A with Julie Sussman

Why Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth because of the close-knit atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the students and alumni. I love the unique opportunities that the D-Plan offers as well as the availability of outdoor activities in every season.

How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
I began rowing in the fall of 8th grade. My older brother was a rower and after seeing his first regatta, I knew I had to try it myself.

What is something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
My first race ever was a women's 4+ entered in the men's event. We got second.

What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
I am involved in the Women in Science Program, Dartmouth Humanitarian Engineering, and the Dartmouth Outing Club.

What are your future plans, if any?
I am currently undecided about what specific major or career path I want to pursue, but in the meantime, I plan to explore the many academic opportunities offered here, learn a lot, meet new people, and (of course) row!
