Q & A with Andrew Kenealy

Why Dartmouth?
While I undoubtedly chose Dartmouth because of the incredible undergraduate education offered here, the beautiful campus, and national reputation, what stood out to me most about Dartmouth was the people.  The students here treat one another with incredible respect and kindness - something that I did not find at all of the schools I considered.  Despite how impressive the students are, they are almost universally humble, laid-back, and easy-going.  After the very first day, I felt at home on campus and knew that I had made the right choice.

How long have you been rowing and what got you interested?
I started rowing my freshman year of high school at the Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, Mass.  I had played baseball throughout elementary and middle school, but wanted to try something new.

Have you won any awards?

I won the Watson Award for greatest overall contribution to Nobles rowing my senior year.

Something Interesting?
Squeaky balloons and holding someone else's hand underwater give me goosebumps.

Future Plans?

I don't have much of an idea at this point, but am just going to take whichever classes look most interesting and go from there.  I might try to save the world, if the opportunity arises.
