Was a four year letter winner in crew Saint Ignatius Preparatory High School. He was voted captain of his crew team his senior year. He also lettered in cross country during his freshman year. His crew team competed in the Southwest Regional Championship four consecutive years. Freshman year he was awarded the Most Outstanding Oarsman award. Outside of athletics, Pierce was a member of the Saint Ignatius newspaper, he was an announcer for the S.I. radio, and was also a Freshman Mentor. At Dartmouth, he is interested in studying Astronomy and Business in hopes to pursue a business career. He would like to become a member of a fraternity, participate in the Dartmouth Outing Club, and announce for the Dartmouth Radio.

Tim is the son of Timothy Sweeney and Susan Mackay and has one brother and sister. His grandfather, Donald Mackay attended Dartmouth class of 1956.
