Megan (pronounced MEE-gan) Sobel was appointed Senior Associate Director of Athletics at Dartmouth in 2003. She oversees nine of the varsity teams — women’s basketball, women’s soccer, equestrian, softball, skiing, men’s and women’s squash, and men’s and women’s tennis — as well as the equipment room.
Prior to coming to Dartmouth, she was at Tulane University for five years where she was a member of the senior athletic department management team where she oversaw compliance, training room and strength and conditioning facilities, admissions, housing, and five varsity programs. She also served as the Ivy League Athletic Administrative Intern at Dartmouth in 1995-96.
A 1992 graduate of Lafayette where she played field hockey and softball, Sobel earned her master's degree from the University of Iowa in 1993. Sobel and her husband, David, have four children — Hannah, Ben, Beckett and Cooper — and reside in Hanover.
