Claudette Peck, LCMHC, RD, CSSD, LD is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and registered, licensed dietitian, with a specialty certification in Sports Dietetics.  Claudette has been employed at Dartmouth College Health Services working as the college nutritionist, coordinator of nutrition programs, and a staff mental health counselor since 2003 and joined the DP2 staff in the fall of 2011. In her role as college nutritionist, Claudette sees students for a variety of issues, including general nutrition, sports nutrition, weight management, and eating disorders.

The mission of the sports nutrition component of the Dartmouth Peak Performance (DP2) program is to educate student athletes and coaches about the best evidence-based strategies to improve physical and mental performance. Through the use of educational outreach opportunities, individual student sessions, and cross-campus collaborations, the sports nutrition component of DP2 aims to increase the awareness of nutritional guidelines and recommendations as they pertain to obtaining peak performance for each athlete who strives for excellence at Dartmouth College.   Major areas of focus include:  sports nutrition principles for training, pre-event fueling, hydration status, and fueling for recovery.

Since joining DP2, she has met with Big Green teams providing team nutrition talks, guidelines and tours of the new '53 Commons dining facility and options.  Additionally, she meets with athletes and coaches individually during her "Thursdays at Floren" open hours.  Claudette works with teams who are participating in the Low Energy Availability Prevention (LEAP) program at Dartmouth.  She also provides monthly Nutrition Newsletters for coaches and athletes on varying topics related to sports nutrition and peak performance.  So far, Claudette's Nutrition Newsletters for coaches and athletes have included topics such as eating on the road, immune function, and athlete fatigue.

"My goal in working with Big Green athletes to help them understand the importance of fueling their minds and bodies during their time here at Dartmouth, in hopes that they will continue to value the benefit of healthy eating principles throughout their adult lives."

Claudette has been an adjunct instructor at Plymouth State University in their Graduate Eating Disorders Institute from 2006-2011, and has taught nutrition courses in higher education institutions including the University of Vermont, Saint Michael's College, Trinity College, and Vermont Technical Center since 1994.  Claudette received her Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association in 2006.  Claudette has presented at several conferences throughout New England on issues related to nutrition therapy for the eating disordered spectrum, college policy creation for treatment of eating disorders on college campuses, as well topics related to nutrition and athletic performance.  She is co-editor of Dartmouth College's Eating Disorder Treatment Manual, 2007, 2008 and 2010 editions, and currently serves as Co-Chair of Dartmouth College's Eating Disorders Consultation Team.

Claudette received her Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from the University of Vermont, completed her dietetic registration requirements from Boston University, and completed her Master's of Science degree in Counseling from the University of Vermont.

She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, and of the dietetic practice groups: Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness nutrition (SCAN), and Behavioral Nutrition (BN).
