In the Northeast it seems as though the ice and snow will never end this winter. Two Big Green athletes will be happy if that happens. Senior Annie Hart on the snow and Eric Neiley on ice. Hart earned the fifth All-America honor of her career in the 15K Freestyle at the NCAA Championships. Neiley led the Big Green hockey team to a first-round victory in the ECAC playoffs.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Annie Hart, Sr., Stillwater, Minn.,  Women's Nordic Skiing

Annie Hart earned the fifth and final All-America honor of her career by placing eighth in the women's 15K Freestyle at the 2014 NCAA Championships in Utah last week with a time of 41:28.7. The senior from Stillwater, Minn., just missed out on All-America honors in the 5K Classical race by less than a second, placing 11th in the first of her two races. A model of consistency throughout her career, Hart placed among the top 10 33 times and the top five 24 times with four victories in the final 35 races of her career.

Eric Neiley Jr., Warminster, Pa.,  F, Men's Hockey

The Warminster, Pa., native finished the weekend with a league-high five points to help Dartmouth defeat Rensselaer in the first round of the ECAC Hockey Championship, 2-1. After the team fell behind one game to none, Neiley took over, scoring two goals in Game 2, including the winner late in regulation. He would add three more points the following night as the Big Green overcame a two-goal third-period deficit to stun the seventh-seeded Engineers to win the series. Neiley scored early in the final frame to spark the comeback and assisted on the tying goal six and a half minutes later. For his efforts, Neiley was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week as well.
