(Anchorage, Alaska), Sr., Men's Nordic SkierEric Packer (Anchorage, Alaska), skiing in his third NCAA Championships, capped off his collegiate career by taking ninth in the 10K freestyle race to earn second-team All-America honors, then fourth in the 20K classical race to garner a spot on the All-America First Team. He has three All-American honors to his credit in his career, having earned a spot on the first team in the 10K freestyle a year ago.
(Peru, Vt.), Sr, Women's Nordic Skier
Sophie Caldwell (Peru, Vt.) picked up her fourth and fifth career All-America honors at the NCAA Skiing Championships, finishing third in the 5K freestyle and second in the 15K classical to make the first team in both events. The latter race came down to a thrilling finish as Caldwell went ski-to-ski with a Vermont skier. The photo finish required more than 10 minutes to decide which racer crossed the line first, with Caldwell just missing out on an individual title by less than two inches.
