HANOVER, N.H. — Senior Sarah Knapp finished the first day of the Dartmouth Invitational tied for third to help the Dartmouth women's golf team end the round in fourth place. The Big Green fired an aggregate score of 311 to just two shots behind third place Brown.

The annual two-day event is played at the par-72, 5,846 yard Hanover Country Club. The 11-team field opened the tournament on Saturday with 18 holes.

Heading into the final round, Yale leads the pack with a team score of 286 with Boston University carding 298 to sit in second. Brown is in third with Dartmouth and Quinnipiac rounding out the top five.

Knapp's even-par 72 led the Big Green and leaves her in contention, just four strokes off the pace set by Elisabeth Bernabe of Boston University.

Jane Lee carded a six-over par 78 for Dartmouth for a share of 15th place. In their first tournament as members of the team, freshmen Tara Simmons and Jamie Susanin played well entering the clubhouse with an 80 and an 82, respectively. Sophomore Jessica Goldstein was the other scorer for the Big Green, shooting an opening round 82.

Dartmouth concludes the 2013 Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 15.
