CORAL SPRING, Fla. – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its annual list of All-American Scholars on Monday and Dartmouth had five student-athletes honored.

The Big Green were the most represented among their Ivy League counterparts with Columbia having three players on the list, while both Penn and Yale saw two golfers receive the accolade.

Each year, the WGCA recognized athletes from Division I, II and III with one of collegiate golf’s most prestigious honors. The criteria for selection are some of the most stringent in all of collegiate athletics, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. In 2012-13, 644 golfers made the All-American Scholar Team.

All five members of the Big Green received the scholar-athlete honor for the first time. Senior Emily Hyman, junior Sarah Knapp, sophomores Jane Lee and Savannah Grice and freshman Lily Morrison were all rewarded for their work on the links and in the classroom.

Hyman ended her tenure at Dartmouth with her inclusion on the All-American Scholar Team after competing in all nine events for the Big Green. Hyman’s best finish came at the Low Country Intercollegiate where she earned a share of 20th place.

Knapp ended her most successful season in Hanover with a stroke average of 79.5 in 19 competitive rounds. The Ponte Vedra Beach,Fla., native earned low individual medalist honors at both the ECAC Championship and the Low Country Intercollegiate.

For the second straight season, Lee’s stroke average of 78.3 was tops on the team. Lee tied for first at the weather-shortened Roar-EE Invitational as she carded a one-round total of 79.

Grice competed in five rounds in 2012-13 while shooting in the 70s in two of her 12 competitive rounds. She tied for 15th at the Dartmouth Invitational getting her second year on campus off to a solid start.
