BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — Senior Sarah Knapp (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) shot a seven-over 79 at Tumblebrook Country Club to lead the Dartmouth women’s golf team to a three-stroke victory in a dual match against Hartford on Sunday. The four low scorers for the Big Green combined for 323 strokes, while the Hawks totaled 326 on the day.
Knapp was challenged by teammate Jane Lee (North Shore City, New Zealand), who carded an eight-over 80 for the 18 holes. Rounding out the Dartmouth scorers were junior Savannah Grice (Atlanta, Ga.) and freshman Tara Simmons (Goldsboro, N.C.), both of whom finished up 10 strokes over par with an 82.
Also competing for the Big Green were seniors Kathryn Kennedy (Medina, Minn.) and Evan Sterneck (Leawood, Kan.) with an 85 (+13) and 86 (+14), respectively, as well as sophomore Lily Morrison (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) with a 92 (+20).
