HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth women’s golf head coach Alex Kirk has announced the latest recruits set to become members of his team this fall in freshmen Tara Simmons and Jamie Susanin.

Fresh off a season that saw the squad earn a trio of top-four finishes and three individual titles, Kirk is looking for the pair to make a splash on the links during their first year on campus.

Simmons, a native of Goldsboro, N.C., comes to Dartmouth after starring on the golf course at Charles B. Ayock High School. During her scholastic career, Simmons exceled in both golf and track. She was a four-time individual champion of the ECC Conference Tournament, while winning both the NCHSAA 3A State and Regional Championship during her junior and senior seasons. Simmons received TYGA all-state recognition four times and impressed in the classroom where she was named her class valedictorian. A four time ECC Conference Player of Year, Simmons was also the President of the National Honor Society.

Susanin comes to Hanover after a successful four years on the women’s golf team at Radnor High School. The Bryn Mawr, Pa., native captained a team that captured both district and state championships during her senior campaign. Susanin was an All-Central League selection four times, while also earning All-Delaware County honors in 2013. The success during her final high school season continued as she recently captured the PIAA East Regional Individual Championship. Last summer, Susanin won the Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia Junior Girls Championship.

The Big Green kick off the 2013-14 season by hosting the annual Dartmouth Invitational at Hanover Country Club, where they finished fourth last fall.
