It is cold here in Hanover but Big Green athletes are heating up the ice in Thompson Arena and on the road for the men's and women's hockey team. Lindsay Holdcroft and Eric Neiley are leading the Green.

Junior Holdcroft continues to backstop the women's hockey team turning aside 78 of 82 shots for a 2-0-1 record last week. On the men's side sophomore Eric Neiley scored two goals in Dartmouth's win over Colgate, including the game-winner. For their play, Neiley and Holdcroft have been named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Eric Neiley, (Warminster, Pa.) So., F, Men's Hockey

Neiley scored twice in the Big Green's win over Colgate Saturday night at Thompson Arena, including the game-winner with just 5:19 left in regulation. After drawing the penalty to put his team on the power-play, Neiley finished off a beautiful passing play at the top of the crease with the one-timer that gave his team the 5-4 lead. He scored his first of the night in the opening period with a wrist shot in the high slot through traffic. His first point of the weekend came on an assist Friday night against Cornell when freshman Nick Bligh batted his saucer pass out of midair and into the back of the net. The two goals against the Raiders matched Neiley's career high.

Lindsay Holdcroft (Pittsburgh, Pa.) Jr., G, Women's Hockey

Holdcroft continued her strong play last week, leading the Big Green to a 2-0-1 record. The junior netminder picked up a pair of wins, while registering a goals-against average of 1.30. The Pittsburgh, P.A. native turned aside 78 of the 82 she faced. Holdcroft picked up her fourth shutout in conference play this season against Cornell making 34 saves, while helping Dartmouth earn a much-need point. Holdcroft was also the first goaltender to hold the Big Red scoreless in 108 games.
