HANOVER, N.H. — Freshman Abrm McQuarters ran 10 times for 83 yards and one touchdown and caught three passes for 49 yards and another score as the Dartmouth junior varsity used a big fourth quarter to close its season with a 34-13 victory over Bridgton Academy Sunday on Memorial Field.

The Big Green scored three touchdowns in a span of less than nine minutes to break open a game that was tied at 13 entering the final period.

The go-ahead points came after a punt by John Katzman hit a Bridgton (3-5) player and Lucas Bavaro recovered for Dartmouth at the visitor’s 48. Ten players later quarterback Thomas Militello started left on the option and pitched to senior tailback Kevin Price, who ran in from the 1 for what would be the winning touchdown.

The Big Green got some insurance with 4:01 remaining when Militello (8-of-12 for 87 yards, 1 TD) hit McQuarters for 28 yards on the right side and McQuarters took an option pitch from Militello and scored from 12 yards out on the next snap. The two-play drive was set up by an interception from freshman corner Chris Aguemon.

Dartmouth closed out the scoring in dramatic fashion as junior safety Cody Patch picked off a Bridgton pass and exploded straight down the middle of the field for a 44-yard “pick six” – his second of the season.

Ernest Evans completed 7-of-16 passes for 90 yards splitting time at quarterback with Militello. Daniel Gorman led the Big Green receivers with four catches for 35 yards while freshman tailback Jacob Siwicki had 27 yards rushing and 22 yards receiving on two catches. In addition to his touchdown, Price had a 27-yard ramble on a screen pass.

Corner Darius George led Dartmouth with 11 tackles while defensive end Sawyer Whalen had nine and linebacker Brian Fordon, safety Lucas Bavaro and Patch had eight apiece.

Dartmouth finishes the season 2-1 in official games and also “won” a passing scrimmage with Norwich. Bridgton falls to 3-5 with the loss.
