Jessica Poole enters her second year with the Dartmouth Athletics Department as an assistant director of varsity athletic communications.
Poole has worked in the collegiate sports information domain for more than five years, and serves as the contact for women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, rowing, softball, and swimming and diving. She comes to Dartmouth by way of the University of Michigan where she was an assistant director of athletic media relations overseeing the publicity for the women's basketball and rowing programs, as well as the men's soccer team, which embarked on a journey to the College Cup in 2010. Prior to working in her hometown of Ann Arbor for the Wolverines, she was an assistant director for the Spartans - at UNC Greensboro - working with women's basketball, women's volleyball, softball, and cross country/track and field.
A 2005 graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in journalism, Poole began her professional career with an internship at the University of Denver before a six-month stint as the Doubles Promotion Coordinator for the ATP Tour. She has volunteered at four separate NCAA Women's Basketball Tournaments, including regionals in Greensboro, N.C., in 2007 and 2008. Poole is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) and the Black College Sports Information Directors of America (BC-SIDA).
