Beware of falling records. Everywhere you go on the Dartmouth campus lately you may run into an athlete setting a new Dartmouth or venue record. This past weekend sophomore Kaitlin Whitehorn set a Big Green record in the 60 meter dash, crossing the line in 7.60. Senior Nejc Zupan set a pool record at Columbia, swimming the 200 Breast in 1:59.95.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
(Huntington, N.Y.) So, Women's Track and Field
The Dartmouth sophomore broke the program record in the 60 meters last Friday night at Boston University's Valentine Invitational, crossing the line in 7.60. The new program-best mark in the event helped Whitehorn finish as the top collegian in the field. She wasn't done with the 60m, excelling in the high jump as well. Last season's Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Champion in the event was second at BU with a 5-8-75/1.75m to her credit, clearing the height on her first attempt.

Dartmouth senior Nejc Zupan was named this week's DartmouthSports.com Male Athlete of the Week after a great performance at the Columbia Dual-Meet last Sunday, winning three events. Zupan won his first event, the 100-Breast in 55.06. In the 200-breast, he set a new Uris pool record time of 1:59.95. Zupan picked up his third win of the day, with a 1:49.93 in the 200-IM.
