TAMPA, Fla. – The Dartmouth College men's swimming team won seven-of-ten events to finish first at the University of Tampa Relay Carnival on Saturday.  

In the first men’s event of the relay, the Big Green won the 800-Free in the time of 7:04.07. The winning time was six seconds faster then the second place finisher from Tampa. Nejc ZupanDylan GabelJun Oh and anchor Jack Long won the event for the Big Green.

Dartmouth also placed third in the race, as the foursome of Tate Ramsden, James Thompson, Logan Briggs and Joby Bernstein finished in 7:22.19.

In the 3x100-Fly relay, the Big Green finished in first place in 2:36.20, as the threesome of Andrew North, David Harmon and James Verhagen won the event by just over a second ahead of Tampa.

The Big Green continued to add points, winning the 3x100-Breast with the group of Timo Vaimann, Jay Schulte and Zupan in 2:54.98. In the 3x100-Back, the Green added their fifth first place marker with Aaron Athanas in between Verhagen and Gabel in 2:39.17.

In the tenth event of the relays, Dartmouth placed first in the 500-Free Crescendo. The foursome of Daniel Whitcomb, Ian Woon, Gabel and Oh finished four seconds ahead of Tampa in 4:10.13

The Big Green finished first and second, respectively in the 400-Medley. The ‘A’ squad of Verhagen, Zupan, Harmon and Whitcomb finished ahead of Athanas, Vaiman, North and Woon at 3:28.53.

The Big Green completed the relays with a top finish in the 400-IM by Logan Briggs, Zupan, Verhagen, and Athanas.

In the 8x50-Free, 3x166 yard SNARF and 400-Free relay, Dartmouth placed second behind Tampa. 

The Big Green will travel down to New Haven, Conn. for an Ivy League meet with Penn and host Yale next Saturday.
