The Dartmouth College swimming and diving teams will close out the 2012-13 dual-meet season against Columbia in its final home meet of the season. The women will race at 11 a.m. and the men will start swimming at 3 p.m. It will also serve as the final home meet for the Class of 2013.

Get the Columbia Action on Meet Mobile - For the second week the Big Green will be using the Meet Mobile App for live scoring of the Columbia meet. The app, which is available on the Apple App Store and also in an Android version on Google Play, is available for phones as well as iPads and features real-time results as well as meet information.
Dartmouth Picks Up Win over UConn - Fresh off its Dartmouth Invitational titles, the Big Green swimming and diving teams earned sweep of Big East foe, UConn on Saturday (Feb. 2). The win was the first over UConn for the women's squad in program history.
Thank You Class of 2013 - Sunday's meet will be the final home meet for the Big Green senior class. The Class of 2013 includes: Joseph Chance (Lafayette, La.), One June Chang (Great Neck, N.Y.), Will Derdeyn (St. Louis, Mo.), Zack Doherty (Pelham, N.Y.), Benjamin Feeser (Ridgefield, Conn.), Michael Lenkeit (South Windsor, Conn.) and Jay Margherio (New Canaan, Conn.) on the men's side. For the women it will be the final home meet for Natalia Vecerek (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.), Isa Guardalabene (Albany, Calif.), Madison McClenney (The Woodlands, Texas), Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.) and Charlotte Williams (Boca Raton, Fla.). Thanks for all that you have contributed to the program Class of 2013!
Final Meet Before the Start of Championship Season - The Columbia dual meet will serve as the final meet of the regular season for the Big Green. The Dartmouth men enter the meet with a 9-3 dual meet record while the women have a 10-5 record.
Zupan To Represent Dartmouth at NCAA Championships - Junior Nejc Zupan (Kamnik, Slovenia) will become the first Dartmouth swimmer to swim at the NCAA Championships since 1980 after earning a NCAA A time in the 200 breatstroke at the Brown Invitational. The last Big Green appearance at the NCAA Championships was 1999 when diver Toby Hayes advanced to the national championship.
Gillis Books Ticket To NCAA Zone Meet - Freshman diver, Brett Gillis (Kitchner, Ontario, Canada), had a solid outing against Penn and Yale (Jan. 12). The rookie claimed the 1-meter title with a score of 298.8 and was second on the 3-meter. His scores qualified him for the NCAA Zone Meet in March.
Scouting Columbia- The Columbia men's team enters Sunday's meet after defeating Navy in dual meet action on Friday (Feb. 1). The win was the Lions fifth straight dual-meet victory and brings their dual meet record to 6-2, 3-2 Ivy League. On the women's side, Columbia enters with a No. 23 ranking in the Endless Pool/CollegeSwimming.com Poll released on Jan. 31. The Lions have a 4-2 dual meet record this season. Both teams will swim against Princeton on Feb. 8 before traveling to Hanover to face the Big Green.
Ivy League Championships on Tap - The Big Green are just about a month away from the 2013 Ivy League Championships. The women are up first and will travel to Princeton for the meet Feb. 28-Mar. 2 and the men's event will be held Mar. 7-9 at Brown in Providence, R.I. Both teams are looking to improve on fifth-place finishes from a year ago. The men's fifth-place finish was the highest finish for the Big Green since the formation of the Ivy League swimming and diving championships.
Welcome Aboard! - The swimming and diving programs welcome a total of 20 freshmen to the men's and women's swimming and diving teams for 2012-13. The freshmen feature four internationals and talent from across the U.S. Joining the men's team are 10 new faces in Aaron Athanas (Beverly, Mass.), Logan Briggs (Issaquah, Wash.), Daniel Chen (Lake Oswego, Ore.), Brett Gillis (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada), Matthew Ginsberg (Scarsdale, N.Y.), Joseph Kind (San Francisco, Calif.), Jun Oh (Andover, Mass.), James Verhagen (Randberg, South Africa) and Daniel Whitcomb (Winnetka, Ill.). On the women's side there will also be 10 new faces in: Laura Hayes (Reno, Nev.), Emily Holt (Louisville, Ky.), Charlotte Kamai (Corte Madera, Calif.), Laura McCulloch (Durban, South Africa), Kendese Nangle (Kingston, Jamaica), Katie Papa (Califon, N.J.), Olivia Samson (Clifton Park, N.Y.), Koryn Ternes (Austin, Texas), Maddie Wall (St. Louis, Mo.) and Briana Williams (Cypress, Texas). Welcome to the squad!
Freshman Diver Gillis Attends Canadian Olympic Trials - Freshman diver Brett Gillis (Kitchner, Ontario, Canada) spent part of his spring trying to make the 2012 Canadian Olympic team. The freshman took 16th on the 10-meter board.
Henn and Guardalabene Named Captains of the Women's Squad - Senior Isa Guardalabene (Albany, Calif.) and junior Erin Henn (Lawrenceville, N.J.) will serve as team captains for the women's team for the 2012-13 season.
Lannan Joins Squad as Assistant Coach - Ross Lannan begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Big Green. Lannan comes to Hanover after spending two seasons in the same capacity at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. Welcome aboard Coach Lannan!
Wilson Returns for 20th Season- Head Coach Jim Wilson is in his 20th season as head coach of the Dartmouth swimming and diving squads. Wilson, originally hired to coach the Dartmouth men, took over the women's team in 2006. Wilson also returns assistant coach Jenn Verser while Chris Hamilton returns as Dartmouth's diving coach. Ross Lannan begins his first season as an assistant coach.
