Heavyweight and Lightweight Rowers Make the Grade

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Dartmouth men’s heavyweight and lightweight crew teams had 15 student-athletes named to the Intercollegiate Rowing Association’s (IRA) All-Academic Team it was recently announced by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

The heavyweight team had 10 rowers earn the honor, while the lightweight team placed six rowers on the team. Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Harvard, Princeton and Penn were each represented.  

To qualify for the team, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of a 3.35 or better, be at least a sophomore at their respective institution and be a varsity letterwinner.  There were 179 student athletes that earned the award across 25 institutions. Ivy League member, Harvard/Radcliffe led the way with 25 recipients.
