Q and A with Rahul
Dartmouth is an amazing academic school with a lot of resources and opportunities for its undergrads. Visiting the college my senior spring in high school convinced me that this was the right place to spend the next four years.
How long have you been rowing and what got you interested in rowing?
I started rowing my freshman year of college. My freshman floor had a bunch of recruited rowers on it and they convinced me to come down to the boat house and try it out. Rowing for this team and its coaches has been the most defining part of my Dartmouth experience.
Have you won any academic or rowing awards recently?
I was on the academic Honor List freshman and sophomore year.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I was captain of my middle-school chess team in 6th grade. I played competitively in my hometown of Mumbai, India, and had my fair share of success at the regional level. I was never good enough for the pros though.
What extra-curricular activities do you participate in here at Dartmouth?
I write for the sports section of the D and I tutor students in economics and engineering.
What are your future plans, if any.
I am pursuing a double major in engineering sciences and economics. Future plans as of now are uncertain.
