Nejc Zupan Books Ticket To NCAAs -
Junior Nejc Zupan (Kamnik, Slovenia) has had a terrific career in the pool at Dartmouth, he's set numerous school and pool records, has won three Ivy League titles and can now add, "reached the NCAA Championship", to his resume. With a time of 1:53.87 in the 200 breaststroke, Zupan earned an NCAA A cut that earns him a spot in the Championships in March. He is the first male swimmer to reach the NCAA Championship since Todd Taylor in 1980.

Big Green Swim Well at Brown Invitational - The Dartmouth swimming and diving teams swam well at the Brown Invitational, which was its last action before the Christmas holiday. The Big Green men took second place with a score of 772 and picked up a win over Brown. The women placed fourth with a score of 538. The meet also served as an Ivy League dual meet with Princeton and both teams fell to the Tigers.

Records Fallin' - The Big Green saw several records fall over the course of the Brown Invitational. In all, nine records were set over the course of the three-day meet. Nejc Zupan (Kamnik, Slovenia) set the Ivy League and Dartmouth record in the 200 and 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM. Additionally, James Verhagen (Randberg, South Africa) set the record in the 200 and 100 backstroke.  Dartmouth relays also set four new records.

Back In The Swim of Things - This week's meet marks the first time the Big Green are back in the water since the first week of December and will serve as the start of the 2012-13 Ivy League slate in earnest. The Big Green didn't get the entire time off as they spent 12 days training in Florida. Check out their blog here.

Hittin' The Road - Dartmouth has only had one home meet this season and it was the women's meet against UVM on Nov. 28, meaning the Dartmouth men and women have yet to swim together at Karl Michael Pool this season. That will change with the Dartmouth Invitational as both teams will be swimming together but that meet will be held at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center. The next time the teams will next be back at Karl Michael Pool is on Feb. 2 against UConn.

Penn and Yale on Deck - For the fourth time in the last five seasons the Big Green will swim against Yale and Penn after winter break. Last season, the Big Green women defeated Penn in the final swim of the meet. Both teams fell to Yale.
