Big Green Ready For Ivy League Championship -
Dartmouth enters the Ivy League championship with the momentum of a very successful regular season. For the second consecutive season, Dartmouth won 10 dual meets and had dominating performances against Northeastern, Rhode Island, Vermont and New Hampshire.  The Big Green also picked up dual meet wins over Cornell, Brown and Penn. Dartmouth's three Ivy League dual meet wins was the first time since 1994-95 that the Big Green defeated three Ivy League foes. The Big Green is looking to improve on their sixth-place finish from last season. Dartmouth is seeking its first top five finish since the 1981 championship when they finished in fifth place. The Big Green's best finish is third place at the 1977 and 1978 championships.

Dartmouth Announces Ivy League Squad - The Big Green will be sending a contingent of 17 female swimmers to the Ivy League Championships. The swimmers include: Sasha Alcon (Fremont, Calif.), Galen Barry (Wayne, Pa.), Rebecca Butler (West Orange, N.J.), Kendall Farnham (Severna Park, Md.), Isa Guardalabene (Albany, Calif.), Siobhan Hengemuhle (Boulder, Colo.), Erin Henn (Lawrenceville, N.J.), Elizabeth Kamai (Corte Madera, Calif.), Christine Kerr (Gainesville, Fla.), Danielle Kerr (Gainesville, Fla.), Caitlin Nicholson (Ithaca, N.Y.), Valerie Orellana (Arleta, Calif.), Kelsey Pinson (Portland, Ore.), Meredith Sweeney (Hinsdale, Ill.), Mary Van Metre (Edina, Minn.) and Charlotte Williams (Boca Raton, Fla.). Dartmouth will also be sending six divers to the championships. They include: Katy Feng (Westfield, Mass.), Kendall MacRae (Sherborn, Mass.), Madison McClenney (The Woodlands, Texas), Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.), Kate O'Brien (RSM, Calif.) and Fiona Weeks (Clinton, Wash.)

Recapping the 2011 Ivy League Championship - The Big Green took sixth place at the 2011 championship, behind the strength of some record-breaking performances. Some of the highlights from last year's championships were a school record-time in the 400-medley relay.  Meredith Sweeney (Hinsdale, Ill.), Charlotte Williams (Boca Raton, Fla.), Kendall Farnham (Severna Park, Md.) and Christine Kerr (Gainesville, Fla.), bested the previous mark with a time of 3:46.16, four seconds ahead of the old mark. Kerr also swam the second fastest time in school history in the 500 free with a time of 4:52.78, just 0.37 seconds off the school record. In total, at last season's championship, the Big Green set eight new school records.

Serpico Has Eye on Diving Titles - Junior diver Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.) won the 2010 Ivy League Championship on the 1-meter and after taking last season off, she's poised to make a run at both the 1-meter and 3-meter titles. During the regular season, Serpico claimed the 1-meter crown in five meets and the 3-meter crown in three meets this season. She is one of five Dartmouth divers to have qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships this season.

Dartmouth Divers Qualify for NCAA Zones - The Big Green divers are representing Dartmouth well and so far, five Big Green divers have qualified for the NCAA Zone Meet in March. Female divers Katy Feng (Westfield, Mass.), Madison McClenney (The Woodlands, Texas), Kendall MacRae (Sherborn, Mass.) and Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.) have all earned a spot in the meet while freshman Ryan Shelley (Sudbury, Mass.) earned a spot for the men. The group of four females is the largest group of divers to qualify in Hamilton's tenure at Dartmouth.

All-Around Effort For the Big Green - This season has been characterized by all-around solid performances on both the men and women's side. The teams have been bolstered by an impressive crop of underclassmen. Twins Danielle Kerr (Gainesville, Fla.) and Christine Kerr (Gainesville, Fla.) combined for four school records. Danielle owns the 200 fly and 400 IM records while Christine owns the 200 free record. Meredith Sweeney (Hinsdale, Ill.), Dartmouth's backstroke specialist, owns the 100 and 200 backstroke records while Kendall Farnham (Severna Park, Md.) owns the 100 fly record. Dartmouth's freshmen have also been impressive. Big Green freshmen Valerie Orellana (Arleta, Calif.), Sasha Alcon (Fremont, Calif.) and Siobhan Hengemuhle (Boulder, Colo.) have each captured event titles on the women's side. On the men's side diver Ryan Shelley (Sudbury, Mass.) and  swimmer Ian Woon (Highlands Ranch, Calif.) have also won event titles.

Dartmouth Against the Competition - The Big Green have faired well against Ivy League competition this year. Dartmouth posted a 3-4 Ivy League dual meet record and picked up wins over Brown, Cornell and Penn. In it's three wins, Dartmouth defeated its opponent by at least 20 points, the one exception being a thrilling, one-point win over Penn that came down to the final event of the meet.

Barry and Pinson Named Captains of the Women's Squad - Seniors Galen Barry (Wayne, Pa.) and Kelsey Pinson (Portland, Ore.) were named captains for the women's swimming and diving squad for the 2011-12 season.

Wilson Returns for 19th Season- Head Coach Jim Wilson is in his 19th season as head coach of the Dartmouth swimming and diving squads. Wilson, originally hired to coach the Dartmouth men, took over the women's team in 2006. Wilson also returns assistant coaches Jesup Szatkowski and Jenn Verser while Chris Hamilton returns as Dartmouth's diving coach.
